Cummins. Power Stroke. Duramax. Sprinter. We service every major light- and medium-duty diesel platform on the road, with the factory-grade scan tools and dedicated technicians the dealers use — without the dealer invoice.
Auto Trends has been working on diesel trucks since the day we opened. Our diesel tech has factory-grade training on every major platform, the scan tools to actually communicate with each engine, and the parts relationships to source OEM components without the dealer markup.
Whether it’s a 7.3 Power Stroke that’s been your work truck for 20 years or a 2024 RAM 2500 that’s still under factory warranty, we approach every diesel the same way: diagnose first, photograph what we find, quote in writing, and then do the work.
What we don’t do: emissions-defeat work. No DPF deletes, no EGR deletes, no DEF deletes. The Clean Air Act enforcement landscape has shifted hard since 2023 and we want our customers to keep their trucks legal, registrable, and worth full retail value when it’s time to sell.
RAM 2500/3500. 12-valve, 24-valve, ISB, and 6.7 high-output. Injectors, lift pumps, turbos, head gaskets, transmission.
CUMMINS REPAIR →Ford F-Series Super Duty. 7.3 IDI, 6.0, 6.4, 6.7 Scorpion. EGR coolers, injectors, CP4 fuel pumps, turbos.
POWER STROKE REPAIR →Chevy/GMC HD. LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML, L5P. Injector cup repair, glow plugs, fuel system, Allison transmission.
DURAMAX REPAIR →2.7 inline-5, OM642 V6, OM651 inline-4. Sprinter vans and conversions — common with NoCo van-life builds.
Jetta, Golf, Passat, Touareg TDI. EA189 and EA288 platforms. DPF cleaning, fuel system, turbo work.
Forced regen, DPF cleaning (legal, OE-spec only), DEF system diagnostics, NOx sensor replacement.
These are the diesel symptoms we see most often. None of them are guaranteed to be the issue you might think — that’s why we diagnose before we quote.
Diesel is a different animal from gas service. Wrong tools, wrong parts, or wrong assumptions on a 6.7 Power Stroke or Cummins can turn a $400 job into a $4,000 job. Here’s what that means in practice.
We have Cummins INSITE, Ford IDS, GM GDS2, and Snap-on Modis Edge. Generic OBD-II readers cannot diagnose modern diesel emissions and ECM issues — we have the right tool for every platform.
For diesels, parts quality matters more than for gas. We source through diesel-specific channels (Bosch, Stanadyne, Garrett, BorgWarner, BD Diesel) — not the off-brand parts that fail in 30k miles.
The CP4 fuel pump in the 6.7 PSD has a known failure mode that takes a particular set of skills to diagnose and replace correctly. So does an LB7 Duramax injector. So does a 5.9 Cummins lift pump. We’ve done these jobs hundreds of times.
Some diesel work requires drop-tank access. We have the lifts rated for HD trucks and the floor space to do the job right rather than working around the truck in a crowded bay.
No. We do not perform DPF, EGR, or DEF deletes, and we will not perform emissions-affecting repairs on deleted trucks. We’re happy to work on routine maintenance, brakes, suspension, and other non-emissions services for any truck. For diesel performance, we offer legal, emissions-compliant tuning only.
We service all three major light-duty diesel platforms: Cummins (5.9 12-valve and 24-valve, 6.7 ISB), Ford Power Stroke (7.3 IDI, 6.0, 6.4, 6.7 Scorpion), and GM Duramax (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML, L5P). We also handle Mercedes Sprinter (OM642 / OM651), VW TDI, and BMW diesel platforms.
Routine maintenance (oil change, fuel filter): same day. Injector replacement: 1–2 days. EGR cooler or turbo replacement: 1–3 days. Major work (head gaskets, transmission rebuild): 3–7 days, depending on parts availability. We always provide a turnaround estimate when we quote the job.
Yes. We invest in factory-grade scan tools for each platform: Snap-on Modis Edge, Ford IDS for Power Stroke, GM Tech 2 / GDS2 for Duramax, and Cummins INSITE for Cummins. Generic OBD-II scanners can’t communicate with the proprietary diesel systems — we have the right tools for each truck.
Yes. We service light- and medium-duty diesel fleets — service trucks, plumbing/HVAC vans (Sprinter, Transit), small dump trucks, and ag vehicles.
