Outback, Forester, Crosstrek, Impreza, WRX, STI, Legacy, Ascent. EJ25, FB25, FA20DIT, EZ36 engines. We service the head gaskets, CVT, and AWD systems that define this brand — and we use OEM Subaru parts.
If your vehicle is showing any of these, bring it in. Most are addressable; all deserve real diagnosis before parts are thrown at the problem.
If you drive a Subaru with an EJ25 (2006–2014 Outback, Forester, Impreza, Legacy 2.5i), you’ll likely deal with a head gasket eventually. The factory gasket has a documented failure mode — external oil/coolant leak first, then internal combustion leak. We see it daily.
Our process: diagnose with a coolant pressure test, exhaust gas test in the coolant, and visual inspection. Repair with multi-layer steel head gaskets (better than original), ARP head studs (optional but recommended), and a complete top-end refresh while the engine is open — head deck resurface, valve cover gaskets, water pump, timing belt, accessory belts, oil seals.
It’s a 3–5 day job depending on what we find when we open it up. We always quote both options (head gasket only vs full top-end refresh) so you can decide based on your budget and how long you plan to keep the car.

2.5i, XT, Wilderness. EJ25, FB25, FA20DIT.
2.0i, 2.5i, Hybrid, Wilderness. FB20, FB25.
EJ20, EJ25, FA20DIT, FA24DIT. Boost, clutch, drivetrain.
Sedan and 5-door. Naturally aspirated 2.0L, 2.5L.
3-row family SUVs. FA24DIT, EZ36 platforms.
Pricing depends on engine generation and what we find during disassembly. Typical range for an EJ25 head gasket service is $2,200–$3,400 with OEM-equivalent gaskets, and $2,800–$4,200 with the full top-end refresh approach (timing belt, water pump, valve cover gaskets, oil seals, head studs). We provide a written quote after inspection.
Yes. We do CVT fluid changes (which Subaru does NOT recommend but the field experience suggests improves longevity), CVT torque converter service, and full CVT replacement when needed. The 2010+ Outback / Forester / Crosstrek CVTs benefit from disciplined service every 30,000–50,000 miles.
Most often, mismatched tire diameters. Subaru AWD is sensitive to even small tread depth differences — if you replaced 2 of 4 tires, that can damage the AWD coupler over time. We measure tread depth and circumference, then replace tires together or shave new tires to match if you replaced too few. The coupler itself is also serviceable if damage is already done.
Yes. Stock and modified. We service every WRX/STI generation: GD (2002–2007), GR (2008–2014), VA (2015–2021), VB (2022+). Common work: clutch, turbo, intercooler, ringland inspection on tuned engines, drivetrain bushings.
